The tour gave us background information on the regions in which the distilleries operate. We came to find out that there are two kinds of Scotch Whisky - Malt Whisky and Grain Whisky.
We learned about Malt Whiskies and the geographical locations of the distilleries. We received a basic understanding and insight as to why whiskies produced in different distilleries vary in flavour. In short, Malt Whiskies differ considerably in flavour according to the distillery from which they come. They have a more pronounced bouquet and flavour than Grain Whisky. As for Grain Whiskies, they are not influenced by geographical factors and it may be distilled anywhere in Scotland.
