"The George"
This particular site has been in use since 1723, albeit originally as a coffee house, and, whilst outside there hangs a sign of King George III, the pub supposedly took its name from its original proprietor, George Simpkins. (that's my brother there situated on bench, just patiently waiting for me to hurry up so that we can get out of the rain and grab a pint)
